What have you done with my whole wide world?

Most people in Scotland are fully aware of the brutal Jodi Jones murder case, which inspired Killers' frontman Brandon Flowers to compose an emotionally powerful song about the teenager whilst touring Scotland in 2004.

Speaking to the British tabloid press, Flowers remarked that the case "affected me deeply and got me to thinking about how awful it must feel to be the parent of a missing child, how powerless a person must feel in such a dreadful situation."

Rather than receiving praise, Flowers was pilloried by the media and was forced to publicly apologise to the Jones family.

The track has never been studio recorded. It has only been played at a handful of live shows. The mp3 below is a recording of one such show.

Don't you know your times tables by now?

Due for release on 2 April, Maximo Park's hotly anticipated second album, Our Earthly Pleasures was conveniently leaked onto torrent trackers early last week.

Cue an internet meltdown as Parkies in their parkas leeched every last drop of the Geordie boys' lyrical madness from their on-line sources.

While everyone is raving about the rather special Our Velocity, you can sample the delights of Maximo's other offerings here at LTLB.

Stay up late; don't go to bed so early

They're from Reading, England and they're called 'Tap Tap'. They make music using guitars, drums and words. They sound a bit like 'Clap Your Hands Say Yeah', 'Arcade Fire' and 'Wolf Parade'.

They have an album called 'Lanza Fame'. The album is good. They are good. Their track entitled The Reason I'm Here is the reason we're here.
